we hosted carrie’s shower at the chambers on sunday. the food and venue was perfect! the flowers that colleen and i crafted surprisingly turned out beautiful, if i do say so myself! it was fun to hang with everyone that will be in mexico for the big day!

i love going to the dentist - dead serious. i love when all the crap from 6 months is scrapped off of your teeth. i also take my dental care very seriously. floss, brush with my sonicare, flouride wash at night and mouthwash in the morning. you only have one set of choppers, you really have to take care of them!
i use to have this young cleaner boy who thought he was gods gift to all woman. he would lay his arm inappropriately on my chest while cleaning and make uncomfortable comments about my appearance. i complained and was given an older woman cleaner. have had her ever since.
this monday morning i rolled out of bed early to go to the dentist. did miminal grooming and was off!
i arrived right on time and am greeted by a H-O-T fresh out of dental school young cleaner boy.
he was so nice. laid back. personable. good charma. great cleaner. very aware of when he needed to rinse my mouth….AND he was 2 cm away from my face under florscent lighting. BUMMER. plus he has my charts so he knows i’m way too old for him anyway. again, TOTAL BUMMER
oh well – this is just a reminder to always try to look your best when you walk out the door. kind of like the wear nice undies thing as you never know when you might get into an accident and have to have your pants cut off and put in an ambulance thing (is that the right thing??)
anywho, i’ll remember to primp in 6 months and with my luck will get my old woman cleaner lady!
i am officially obsessed. i bought the entire “Twilight” series and read the first book in 3 nights! running on very little sleep – but i just could not put the book down! the movie came out last night – going to see it this weekend. i’ve cleared my calendar and am going to hunker down this weekend and start the 2nd book!!
When Lipstick Jungle was moved to Friday nights, the writing was on the wall….the show has been cancelled! We will never find out what happens with Joe Bennett and his 14 carat engagement ring. I will never get to oogle over Kirbys shirtless body again. This is a very sad day.
I was flipping through channels last night and started watching “Whatever Martha”. Has anyone seen this? Basically, Martha’s daughter Alexis and her best friend sit and watch old episodes of the Martha Stewart show and tear them apart. It was hysterical!
There hasn’t been much on the reading front lately. I did get the newest Vince Flynn book over 2 weeks ago and have barely made a dent. I am such a fan and can’t wait to see what Mitch Rapp is up to….I just can’t seem to get into this book. AGGGH. Amazon should be delivering the “Twilight” series to my doorstep any day now. I can’t wait to start reading them! The movie comes out very soon! I have a lot of reading to do. Teen vampire books – who would have though!
With the cold weather creeping in I’m sure my Netflix account will be put to good use and I hope to start reading more. Anything to help me get through a Minnesota winter!

I woke up dazed and confused from the concert last night. My alarm did go off at 6 am so that I could get to the polls nice and early. That didn’t happen. When I did arrive, the line was long but went fairly quickly and I rocked my vote! Very exciting day! I do think it is going to be a close race! We will see!!!
I did steer a new friend who is unregistered to the WRONG voting place! He did get up nice and early as he didn’t go to the concert with us last night and was already in line when I arrived. He waited for an hour and a half and was told he was at the wrong place. He only lives 2 blocks away from me – how can that be? I feel especially bad about that….
I’m going to see Girl Talk tonight at First Ave. Girl Talk is the stage name of Gregg Gillis. Gregg studied to be a Biomedical Engineer but quit his day job to focus on his music. He specializes in mashup style remixes in which he uses unauthorized samples from different songs to create a new song. The show is sold out and I’m super excited! I guess everyone dances their balls off! Check out his before and after photo below. His life in a biomedical lab and his life now mixing up some music! Love it!
