I flew back from Taos and went directly to the State Fair! What culture shock!! We had fun hanging out with Angela’s friends from HS. I wish that boys my age were that hot…to be 22 again!! Our plan was to see Brandi Carlile’s concert but we ended up eating and walking around too long. The concert was so packed we couldn’t even see her on stage. Pickle dogs were my all time fav with the birthing barn coming in as most disturbing. We walked in right as animals were being born!!
Taos was relaxing and fun seeing the kiddies! They are getting so big and have such personalities! I can’t wait to see them again over Turkey Day.
I fly out to Asia next week. Will be gone the entire month of September….will post when I get back. Send good karma my way that I’ll make it thru this trip. See you all in the Fall!
I am going to see John Cameron Mitchell’s rock musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” at The Jungle Theatre tomorrow. It is a modern-day “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” The musical profiles fictional East German transgender singer Hedwig (played by Jairus Abts) as she tells her unique life story of betrayal, jealously and her search for the other half. It is a “Diva” (MN AIDS Awarness) night and should be a good time! I’ll let you know my review…
UPDATE – Hedwig was amazing! Jarius Abts rocked out in a wig and heels for 90 minutes of laughter and tears. With a full band backing him up, the entire show has total energy! We were able to meet Jarius after the show and he is a hottie! Since the show is all him, he said that the rest of the cast members were the audience. That every show had such a different crowd. We asked him a lot of questions and I of course fell in love with another gay boy on the spot!! You have to all go see this show!! It only runs a couple more weeks at the Jungle Theatre!
I will be missing Jessica’s bachelorette weekend and the actual wedding. Asia calls. Am so bummed that I’ll be missing their big day. So, I went to Roch this weekend to spend some QT with Jess. Had a delish meal at 300 First on Friday, treated the bride to be to a spa day, and had one of bp’s famous creations at 1159 on Saturday night! All the doggies were there, but little little Biddy stole the show!!!
I know the weekend won’t make up for missing Jess and Marko’s events, but I hope it made it up to them just a little bit! Love.
Ra Ra Riot is coming to First Ave on September 12th. Anyone who is around should check them out! They are releasing their new album, The Rhumb Line on August 19th. You don’t want to miss them!! Unfortunately, I’ll be back in Asia….sad.
